top games

January is quite honestly one of the toughest months for some, especially those – like myself – who have their birthday at the beginning of the month. What makes January an even tougher month is the fact that there are so many fantastic games coming out. So, in order to make things easier, we have come up with a list of the top games to blow your money on this January 2017.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Expected January 24)
Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard is set to release on January 24, 2017. When Ethan Winters opened his inbox, the last thing he expected was to find an email from his wife; she had been missing for three years. The message was simple: “Come get me,” and an address in Louisiana. This leads Ethan to a decrepit mansion in the heart of the bayou. The place has a seriously creepy vibe, but Ethan continues his search – until a stranger attacks him and knocks him unconscious. Ethan has no idea what awaits him when he wakes up…for he is now in the clutches of the Baker family.

Gravity Rush 2 (Expected 24 January)
Upturn everything you know and return to a world where the laws of gravity are yours to bend or break as your will commands. Kat and Raven return in Gravity Rush 2 to embark on another dizzying adventure where sometimes falling can feel like flying. Experiment with Kat’s newly evolved gravity-bending powers to change the direction of gravity and alter its strength at will.

Master the laws of physics as you explore an expansive world filled with story quests, challenges and monstrous demons. Use your powers together with the fully destructible environment to overcome your enemies in ways never imagined. Challenge friends online using unique PS4 Share functions to battle for leader board places, mine for goodies or hunt treasure.

Yakuza 0 (Expected January 24)
The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80’s are back in Yakuza 0. A prequel to the long-running series set in Japan’s criminal underworld, this entry introduces mainstay protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima as they fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka in their climb through the Yakuza ranks. Along the way, players can interact with all the vices 1988’s Japan had to offer: from discos, clubs and arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world. Featuring an engaging combat system, players will transition between three different fighting styles instantaneously. Take combat up a notch by using objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage takedowns.

Tales of Berseria (Expected January 2017)
Tales of Berseria is the latest title from the Tales Of series. We follow Velvet, the series’ first solo protagonist, as she sets out in search of revenge, driven by her strong emotions. Through Tales Of Berseria players are taken along on Velvet’s journey and her encounters with those who forego emotion, believing that only reason will bring order to the world and its internal conflict. The Holy Midgand Empire governs a great, sprawling nation of landmasses and islands. No two areas are the same as climate, temperature and, subsequently, the lifestyle of civilians varies wildly across the lands. However, vast changes are taking place across the globe as temperatures inexplicably drop. And while trade has been good, thanks to advances seafaring and shipbuilding technology, bustling trade has a tendency to attract pirates who are waiting for their opportune moment.

Hitman: The Complete First Season (Expected January 31)
Play as Agent 47 to take out powerful high-profile targets in an intense spy-thriller story across a world of assassination. Released in a day one edition SteelBook, HITMAN: The Complete First Season will deliver, according to the developer, the ultimate physical version of the game, with over 100 hours of gameplay. Featuring all of the Season One locations and episodes from the Prologue, France and Italy to Morocco, Thailand, USA and Japan.

Digimon World: Next Order (Expected January 2017)
The Digimon World series returns to the West with Digimon World: Next Order! An all-new adventure and story awaits! The Digital World is in despair. Machinedramons are running rampant and causing utter chaos… the Digital World needs your help! Explore and traverse the Digital World to solve a digi-mystery. Recruit faithful Digimon companions and meet friends along the way to help you on this epic journey.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Prologue (Expected January 2017)
Originally released in 2012, Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance] HD is a full HD remastered version of Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance]. Series protagonists Sora and Riku take on the Mark of Mastery Exam in preparation for coming threats. The signature action of the Kingdom Hearts series has evolved, allowing players to experience faster-paced battles and exploration at a blistering pace.

In addition to the above titles, there are a number of PlayStation VR games to get your hands on, including:

– Battlezone
– DriveClub VR
– Eagle Flight
– Eve Valkyrie
– Here They Lie
– Hustle Kings
– PlayStation VR World
– Until Dawn Rush of Blood
