Top 5 reasons to be hyped about Resident Evil VII: Biohazard

Resident Evil VII Biohazard

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard is set to release on January 24, 2017, and it’s one title that we cannot wait to get our horror-loving hands on. With the release just around the corner, we have decided to list the top 5 reasons to be hyped about Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.

Resident Evil VII: Biohazard returns the series to its roots
With past outings in the Resident Evil series being less than stellar, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard promises to return the series to its roots and offer up a more claustrophobic survival-horror experience, rather than the out of place action-orientated style that came with Resident Evil 5 & 6. This time around, from what we have seen, you will be chased down tight, claustrophobic hallways and ultimately have to either fight or hide to ensure survival.

Limited resources
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard will feature limited resources, which is always a plus in titles like this. Having a limited inventory allows this title to place a fair amount of stress on the player, which ultimately amps up the survival-horror aspect. Players will need to manage their inventory very carefully in order to survive the onslaught of enemies. While things may seem helpless at first, you will – from what we have seen in gameplay demos – eventually be able to defend yourself with various firearms and melee weapons.

A storyline worth playing through
To add to the experience, the game looks to feature a rather interesting storyline as well as a great set of characters. This time around you take control of Ethan Winters, a man who receives a message from beyond the grave from his “supposedly” dead wife, and much like any faithful husband would do, he ventures out to find her. From what we have seen, whether or not his wife is still alive is still a mystery; however, this is something that makes us want to play Resident Evil VII: Biohazard more with each passing day. To add to this, there is a crazy set of antagonists making your life hell throughout the game.

Antagonists with a thirst for blood
As you may have seen, in various trailers and gameplay demos, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard features a rather interesting, as well as violent, set of antagonists… The Baker family. What makes Resident Evil VII: Biohazard so interesting, and a game to be hyped for, is learning about what makes the Bakers tick… Why do they act they way they do… and will any of them, being as demented as they are, try and assist Winters in any way? We know Jack Baker, the father, is bent on obliterating Winters; however, what is the motivation behind it… is he purely just insane… or have him and his family been genetically modified into savage human beings?

Then there is the son Lucas Baker who seems to be conflicted regarding his families ways; however, is he just as demented as they are… or is he willing to lend Winters a helping hand? While the Bakers will make your life hell, there are other zombie-like creatures hat will also want to tear your face off.

You can play it in VR
Now, if the thought of playing Resident Evil VII: Biohazard seemed terrifying on a big screen… you can also play it – from start to finish – using the PlayStation VR. This is enough to A: be hyped for this title… and B: warrant a PlayStation VR purchase.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will launch on January 24, 2017; however, for now, watch the European Collector’s Edition unboxing below.
