According to Vodacom, the firm is now offering free access to the light version of Facebook via Facebook Flex. According to the firm, users can either switch between “Free Mode” and “Data Mode” at any time; however, users should be aware that while using “Free Mode,” some photos and videos will not be available.

According to the firm, Facebook Flex is the first of a number of products Vodacom plans to launch under its new Siyakha platform,  which offers zero-rated access to various services.

Vodacom further revealed that once a user selects “Free Mode,” they will be able to update their Facebook status and comment on posts even when they do not have data.

For users who are specifically looking to view media such as pictures or videos, they can simply switch to “Data Mode.” To use Facebook Flex, customers can log onto Facebook.com or alternatively dial *111*32#.
