Now, as everybody knows, I am a massive fan of headphones. I own more than one person actually should. However, the Razer Barracuda X kinda slipped under the radar for me. So, I just had to test a set as soon as they launched.

Simply put, the Razer Barracuda X is one set of headphones that is aiming to rule them all. What does this mean? Well, they can be used on your PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Android mobile device.

And the great thing is, there is no need to just through hoops to use them. this means, no extra pairing steps and no additional software downloads. Simply plug in the USB-C wireless transceiver to your desired platform and the 4-in-1 wireless headset is immediately paired for play. To make things easier, there is also a 3.5mm analog cable to switch to a wired connection if you see fit.

When it comes to audio quality, the Razer Barracuda X features an impressive 96dBSPL/mW@1KHz by HATS. The drivers have also been custom-tuned allowing for the individual replications of high, mid, and low-level audio frequencies. This not only delivers richer treble, brighter mids, and powerful bass but results in clear sound.

While the sound is superb, comfort is also important. The last thing anyone needs is headphone fatigue. Razer has incorporated Flowknit memory foam ear cushions that allows the Razer Barracuda X to fit perfectly. The headband is also super comfortable, which ultimately prevents any discomfort during prolonged use.

The ear cups also swivel, which allows for maximum comfort. There is also a removable mic, which means that you don’t need to look like a call centre agent when out and about jamming mobile games.

One of the major features included here is the fact these babies feature Active Noise Cancellation, which means no disturbances while on the go. While the ANC is a bit extreme, it may take some time to get used to. But once you are accustomed to it, it’s pure silence all the way.

Conclusion:
As I own a number of headphones, the Razer Barracuda X definitely falls into my top 10 favourites list. It looks good and has a solid build design. It’s also super comfortable and such a pleasure to use while on the go.

So, if you are looking for a great quality headset for casual/non-casual use, the Razer Barracuda X is definitely for you. I would even go as far as saying that it most definitely rivals some of the most popular premium brands.
