Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, Rocketman is truly an epic musical fantasy about the absolutely incredible story of Sir Elton John during his breakthrough years.

Rocketman follows a truly inspiring journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar, Elton John. This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by the exceptionally talented Taron Egerton – tells the story of how a small-town boy becomes one of the most iconic figures in pop culture.

From start to finish, Rocketman is not only bursting with glitz, glamour and star-power – but it’s also filled with emotional highs and lows that showcase the glory and hardship that Elton John had experienced in his life. There are powerful performances here of absolute raw power that make Rocketman one of the best movies to launch in 2019.

As mentioned there is a lot of star-power here as Rocketman also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.

While the lead performances are truly exceptional, the real star here is Director Dexter Fletcher. Dexter Fletcher takes us on an insane rollercoaster ride through Elton Johns’ rise to fame as well as his dismal dive into a deep, dark world of addiction and depression. Dexter Fletcher then ups the ante with scenes that see Elton John stripping away his protective masks and layers to reveal his truly inspiring heart and soul.

Dexter Fletcher, Taron Egerton, and the rest of the cast and crew should be applauded for releasing such an exceptional film. Rocketman is truly an excellent film that is a must watch for everyone that is not only a fan on Elton John, but also the amazingly talented Taron Egerton.

In conclusion, Rocketman is a powerful portrayal of the life and times of Elton John. It’s colourful, charismatic and full of top-tier talent that makes it a phenomenal biopic, which includes superb acting and tremendous musical scores and performances. It’s hands-down, excellent.
