The latest news to hit the headlines, in the entertainment industry, is that Henry Cavill will be in the upcoming Netflix series based on the popular video game “The Witcher.” It’s no surprise that Cavill will be taking on the lead role of world-renowned Witcher, Geralt of Rivia.

For those who are not familiar with the books as well as the games, The Witcher follows Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter who is struggling to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Cavill has graced the big screen as Clark Kent/Superman is the latest DC films such as Man of Steel and Batman VS Superman. He also played as CIA agent August Walker in Mission Impossible: Fallout. Cavill has been a star on the big screen for some time now; however, this will mark his first return to television since his last appearance on Showtime’s historical drama “The Tudors.”

Recently, Cavill posted to Instagram revealing the news to fans.

The Witcher is based on a series of short stories and novels written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
