E3 2017: Bethesda hits all the high notes

Bethesda E3 2017

Bethesda had a great showing at E3 2017. Not only did the developer reveal two new titles, but it also revealed that two of its major releases have received some much-needed VR support. These two titles include Doom as well as Fallout 4.

While support for VR was mainly showcased on the HTC Vive, questions still remain whether Doom and Fallout 4 will receive the same VR treatment on the PlayStation VR. This may be revealed at Sony’s E3 2017 showcase; however, we will have to wait until Tuesday 13 June – 3am (local time in South Africa) to see if the PlayStation VR will indeed support VR on both of these titles.

Apart from Doom and Fallout 4, Bethesda also revealed that Skyrim will be coming to Nintendo’s latest console, the Nintendo Switch. This is great news for Switch owners as they will be able to tackle the world of Skyrim with one of Nintendo’s best-known characters… Link from The Legenda of Zelda.

Among the announcements, Bethesda further revealed that Dishonored 2 will also be receiving some well-deserved DLC, which is set to be released in September 2017. You can check out the trailer below for some tantalising gameplay.

At E3 2017, Bethesda dropped a rather lengthy trailer for The Evil Within 2, which is set to release on the 13th of October, 2017. At first glance, The Evil Within 2 looks extremely creepy and well-worth keeping an eye on. Watch the trailer below.

Also announced at the Bethesda showcase was Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, which is set to release October 2017. The New Colossus follows the 2014 game Wolfenstein: The New Order and its 2015 prequel Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, and it’s set in the same alternate universe in which Nazis won World War 2. This time, though, the year is 1961, and protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz is back in the US to help the American resistance. Check out the trailer below.

So far, Bethesda has managed to tantalise our taste buds at E3 2017 so far. Now we wait until the games launch so we can give our final verdict on whether or not they are worth a purchase.
