Stan Black, CISSP, is the chief security officer at Citrix where he is in charge of the secure delivery of applications and data to some of the world’s largest organisations in healthcare, financial services, public sector, manufacturing and more. Black defines a converged cyber security posture including vulnerability management, incident response and physical security to reduce the attack surface and protect information in all stages across platforms and solutions.

Black is a seasoned security veteran with more than twenty years of experience in cyber security, reducing business risk, threat intelligence, corporate data protection and crisis management. His experience has provided him the opportunity to deliver durable security and risk solutions to global 1000’s, countries and public agencies around the world.

Prior to Citrix, Black has held global positions at EMC2, RSA and Nuance Communications, Inc. At Nuance, he was VP and CSO and facilitated more than 60 acquisitions in six years. Black holds a bachelor’s from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

During his keynote session, at Synergy, Citrix CEO Kirill Tatarinov had stated that Citrix is placing a major focus on security and essentially becoming “a new breed of security company.” In order to get an in-depth overview of this move, Tech IT Out met with Black in order to find out exactly what Citrix is doing in the security space.
