As you may know, Tech IT Out has a huge technology focus; however, we are also great fans of film. In order to showcase this, our online section has been changed to “Online and Entertainment.” This will allow us to focus on online news as well as entertainment news when it comes to film or any other form of entertainment. With formalities out of the way, let’s take a look at one of this year’s best animation films, The Boss Baby in this bite-sized review.

A 7-year-old Timothy Templeton (voiced by Miles Christopher Bakshi) has his life turned upside down by his new brother, an infant known as the Boss Baby (Alec Baldwin) who wears a suit and has the brusque manner of a businessman. However, the two are forced to get past their initial antagonism when they must work together on a mission of espionage involving the rivalry between babies and puppies. Steve Buscemi, Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy Kimmel, and Tobey Maguire also lend their voices to this animated comedy, which is based on a picture book by Marla Frazee of the ame name.

The Boss Baby has a simple yet solid storyline that is well-worth watching. Kids and adults alike will fall in love with not only the characters, but also the numerous comical quips featured throughout the film. While full of comical quips, The Boss Baby’s cast is one that is perfect for the film. Tobey Maguire sets the tone for the film’s premise while Miles Christopher Bakshi and Alec Baldwin steal the show with their solid voice acting. Adding to the film’s appeal is its rock solid animation, which I can not fault as the film is both very watchable in both 2D and 3D.

Overall, as this is a bite-sized review, The Boss Baby is a must watch. It features some great comical quips as well as a rock solid storyline. To add to the accolades, this animation is a pleasure to watch in both 2D and 3D and is, in my opinion, the perfect film to go watch with the kids these school holidays.

While I enjoyed The Boss Baby very much, budding film critic Abigail Venter (My 9-year-old daughter) also joined me for the press preview. According to Miss Venter: “The Boss Baby was such a funny movie and I absolutely loved it.” So, as you heard from the experts, The Boss Baby is a definite must watch.
